PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

Clairleigh Nursing Home

Clairleigh’s philosophy is based upon the belief that the Service Users are entitled to be treated as individuals. The care in the Home should not be institutionalised by the requirement of the Staff of the Home to operate the procedures, laid out in the Home’s Manual, for the safe delivery of the service. To achieve this, the needs of all Service Users will be assessed and individual care plans developed from this information.

In order to achieve the Aims and Objectives, the Home must secure not only an environment which is the best possible in line with the creative thinking currently available, but also learning from ongoing developments of the best practices in clinical and social care.

ACTIVITIES

Clairleigh Nursing Home

We believe it is important for every Resident to be offered a choice of activities to suit their wishes and abilities. These help to keep our Residents mobile and alert, and encourage them to take an interest in the people and things happening around them.

Residents are encouraged to join in with activities, although, as a former resident said, “This is a rest home and I intend to rest”. The choice is naturally up to each individual. Because activities are so important we employ a full-time Social Activities Coordinator who ensures that a range of activities are organised either on a one-to-one basis or as a group to encourage each Resident to join in.

Theatre and other cultural outings, games discussions, music, hobbies, reading, quizzes and reminiscing are just a few of the activities on offer.
